Town and Village diversity > Aiguillon

The name Aiguillon comes from the point (aculeus in Latin) formed by the confluence of the Lot and the Garonne. The sumptuous chateau built by the Duke of Aiguillon in 1775-81 is now a College, whose majestic rear facade looks out over the Garonne valley. To the right of the chateau and church is the medieval district of Lunac, which contains timber-frame houses and a castle whose roof and towers can be seen from the Place Lunac.
